The final copy!

It is finally here!
Our final cut of THE FITZ!
Our group has worked really hard over the last few weeks to get this done. We've had constant problem occurring, which was mainly illness. Also we had communication problems with the fitzwilliam museum.
We used three locations:
The entrance to the museum
The media studio outside the sports centre
The reception area of the college
Most of our final product is from the rough cut and the music is extended from the rough cuts version but the final version is better than the the rough cuts version. Most of the editing was done by Jack and Leo. The story board and the concept was done by Alex who did a very good job on his work. Sam and Leo did the acting. Jack also did the camera work and helped sort out the story board with Alex.

Location Issues

We wanted to film some of our thriller in the Fitzwilliam so we needed to get permission, to get this we emailed the museum registrar to ask her if we would be able to film in the Fitzwilliam museum. Alas she did not reply so we had to presume that we would not be allowed to film in the museum, so to over come this problem what we decided to is film the out side of the fitzwilliam and edit the rest of the film to make it seem as if we have gone inside the fitzwilliam when we are really in another location. We also had a few problem with getting some of or props like the blue prints and floor plans so we needed to create these props on the computer and make them look genuin.

The roughtcut: Before release!

We have been working on our rough cut of our thriller for about a week now and i say we have done very well.

Since we are waiting for permission (which i don't think we will get) to use the fitzwilliam we had to adapt a little. We started off with the entrance to the target, to do that bit we used the main entrance to the college and the area near the college shop to to find the only camera to record as you will see.
We used a random picture we found in the area outside the hall as our target just for the rough cut which we may use again if we don't get permission to use the fitzwilliam, during the shot we would have a guard standing around looking at the leader who is staring at the "target" but since it's only a rough cut we didn't bother really plus we didn't have allot of time to waste.

The beginning of out rough cut we did last since we kept forgetting to bring our props. The room we used was in the media studio just near the sports centre and the cafe. It was the perfect setting for our opening for our thriller, this is because the room we used in the building was dark and the room we painted black. The building had so much stuff in it we could use as our backup props cause we didn't have all of them but enough to record what we needed. We also found some loose curtains with the pins in them to cover up the door area to prevent lighting coming through. Our lighting was my mobile phone which provided a powerful beam of light, we kept it in it position by some loose rope we also found inside the studio , which for some strange reason it was already knotted up into a noose.

The rough cut will be up soon, there will be no titles on it because it's only a rough cut. The music is being done now by Jack our backup editor for when Leo isn't here and he's doing a good job on it. There is also no conversation also because it's a rough cut but the final cut will have some of the rough cut and the real stuff depending on what happens with the fitzwillam, conversations will be on the final cut but there will be little conversation so that we can create questions on our thriller also our identities will be better protected unlike the rough cut.
Hope you will enjoy the rough cut as well as our final copy of it.

Shot list!

This is our shot list for our thriller!
1.Close up on table in unknown location. It shows all the props on the table (look on blog for props)
2. Long shot of the room in the unknown location. This shot reveals three characters surrounding the table of props. The room is dark except for the small light which only can reveal the characters and the table, there are no windows because they are covered up.
3. Back onto close up of table, the leader of the characters hand is pointing to a table, which is a picture of the location, this picture into shot 4.
4. The picture has faded into the location, the leader is walking up the stairs about to enter the building.
5. Long shot of the three characters, the leader is pointing to something else.
6. A zoom up on the leaders hand, it's pointing to the floor plans of the building.
7.Floor plans fade into the building on the ground floor. The camera is the leaders eyes he is looking around for something, while he is looking there is a guard standing looking at the leader, wondering what is he doing.
8. The leader notices the camera. In the background there is a question asked "what are we going to do about them?"
9. Question is replied with a showing of a mobile being swiped over by a magnet showing the effects of what happens to it.
10. close up shot of one of the characters asking what is the target?
11. Zoom up on table with the leaders hand pointing to the picture which is the "target"
12. The picture fades into the real target where the leader is looking at it smiling.
13. A long shot of the leader near the target, the guard is closer to the camera than the leader is.
